FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: May 11, 2011
KNOXVILLE, TN: The East Tennessee Equality Council (ETEC) announced today that pop icon, singer, and actress, Tiffany, will perform as the headline act at this year’s Knoxville PrideFest on Market Square.
Tiffany, the youngest female artist to debut at number one on the Billboard charts, catapulted to pop stardom with her 1987 dance hit “I Think We’re Alone Now” from her debut album “Tiffany”. She has since made the jump from her pop beginnings over to country music and released her eighth studio album “Rose Tattoo” in March 2011.
Knoxville PrideFest, presented by ETEC, is East Tennessee’s premier pride event and is held each year in June to commemorate The Stonewall Riots of 1969. It is an open celebration of music, entertainment and speakers focused on promoting Equality and Inclusion of ALL people. Knoxville PrideFest 2011 will be held on Market Square in downtown Knoxville on Saturday, June 25, 2011 from 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm. There is no cost to attend.
